Dr. Fay Safavi is the Director of Anesthesiology at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.  The hospital has four operating rooms and one treatment room.  The Anesthesiology Department provides approximately 1,800 anesthetics per year.

During their rotation at TSRH, anesthesiology residents gain experience in the management of patients with multiple congenital disorders.  Strong emphasis is placed on effective pain control by the use of regional anesthesia.  Furthermore, residents become proficient in blood conservation techniques during scoliosis surgery through the use of induced hypotension and acute normovolemic hemodilution.
