The Texas Rehabilitation Association

The Texas Rehabilitation Association (TRA)  is a nonprofit professional membership organization that provides training with continuing education credits, facilitates networking among professionals, and encourages development/maintenance of local subchapters for local activities (TRA Web site: http://www.txrehabassoc.org).

TRA is an affiliate of the National Rehabilitation Association (NRA)  and a member of the Southwest Region of NRA. “The National Rehabilitation Association is a member organization whose mission is to provide ethical and excellent practice in rehabilitation.” NRA members automatically become members of state and regional chapters, as well as local subchapters. NRA, SWR, and TRA hold annual conferences.

The Dallas  Area Rehabilitation Association

The Dallas Area Rehabilitation Association (DARA) subchapter meets quarterly at locations of interest to professionals around the Metroplex. DARA offers continuing education units (CEU's) at each of the meetings. They have several fundraisers each year for their awards program. Each November they give over $2,000 in awards to people with disabilities either for work- or school-related expenses. Contact Alissa Cyr at (214) 688-7007 for more information.
