| At this time, the Department of Rehabilitation Counseling is not processing applications for admissions. Rehabilitation counselors determine and coordinate services for people with disabilities during the entire rehabilitation process. Rehabilitation services are provided to the older person, the person with a psychiatric problem, the factory worker with a cocaine addiction, the inmate in prison, the executive who abuses alcohol, the nurse with back pain, the individual with an amputation, and the person with a head injury. The objectives of rehabilitation may involve employment, disability management, employee assistance, mental health/personal counseling, modification of the work environment through technology, and independent living. In the health-care field, rehabilitation means "to restore or bring to a condition of health or useful and constructive activity." Rehabilitation professionals assist those with disabilities to gain independence and productivity. The Rehabilitation Counseling program offers a Bachelors degree in Rehabilitation Services. For information on a master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling Psychology, follow the link on the left. Our educational programs attempt to examine medical and psychological aspects of disabilities while also looking at the complex process of adjustment by way of useful comprehensive vocational and life adjustment services. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
