Applicants to the Biomedical Communications Graduate Program must meet the following requirements:
A bachelor's degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university
Satisfactory grades (generally a grade point average of B), especially in appropriate courses in upper division (junior and senior level) work and in any graduate work already completed
Submission of a Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Aptitude Test score
Submission of a portfolio of artwork
It is recommended that applicants to the Biomedical Communications Graduate Program have an undergraduate major in applied art and design, commercial art or fine art, with a minor in biology or pre-medical sciences. A major in biology or pre-medical sciences with a minor in fine or applied art may be accepted by the Admissions Committee, as may other majors, depending on the special circumstances involved and the emphasis selected.

Painting (watercolor, acrylic or oil)
Advanced Life Drawing
Advertising Design or equivalent
Basic Photography
Computer Courses:
Word Processing
Basic skills using a page lay-out program and a painting or drawing program
Science Courses: (premedical or predental level)
General Biology and/or Zoology
Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy
Human Physiology
Chemistry, Embryology and Histology are recommended, but not required
