Lowe Foundation Center for Women’s Preventative Health Care
The Lowe Foundation Center for Women’s Preventative Health Care brings together a multidisciplinary physician team that specializes in the care of peri- and postmenopausal women as well as treatment of juvenile and adolescent girls who suffer from congenital gynecological anomalies.
Karen Bradshaw, M.D.
Dr. Karen Bradshaw is medical director of the Lowe Foundation Center for Women's Preventative Health Care. She received her medical degree and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and then went on to train as a fellow in reproductive endocrinology and infertility there. She joined the faculty at UT Southwestern in 1988 after practicing reproductive endocrinology at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston.
Dr. Bradshaw holds the Helen J. and Robert S. and Diana K. and Richard C. Strauss Chair in Women’s Health and is a professor of obstetrics and gynecology and surgery. She is interim chief of the division of reproductive endocrinology and infertility and medical director for the division's university practice in fertility and advanced reproductive medicine.
Dr. Bradshaw is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecology, a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and a member and past president of the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She has written and lectured widely on the subjects of preventative women’s health care and minimally invasive surgery for women.
Dennis Factor, M.D.
Dr. Dennis Factor moved his private practice to UT Southwestern from the Wadley Tower on Gaston Avenue when he joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as an associate professor in 2005. After graduating from Marquette University School of Medicine, he completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Baylor University Medical Center in 1965 and then served in the United States Air Force for two years.
Dr. Factor is a board certified obstetrician gynecologist who is past president of the Dallas County Medical Society, Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and Southwestern Gynecologic Assembly. He is active in the Dallas County Medical Society and Texas Medical Association where he has been an advocate for women’s and children’s health care, confidentiality, and patients’ rights.
With over 40 years of experience in women’s health care, Dr. Factor personalizes care to meet the needs of his patients. Realizing the patient’s time is important, punctuality is strongly promoted in his practice. He has special interest in the gynecologic needs of the mature woman.
Xercerla Littles, M.D.
Dr. Xercerla Littles is an assistant professor at UT Southwestern. She received her medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, where she was named chief resident.
Dr. Littles is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecology and Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She serves on the medical advisory board for the African American Breast Cancer Outreach Project and is on the board of directors of the Hope for Children Foundation.
As well as providing comprehensive care to mothers and their unborn children, Dr. Littles is dedicated to improving the quality of health for women of all ages. She chose obstetrics and gynecology as a specialty because it allowed her to form fulfilling and lasting relationships with her patients during all phases of life. She enjoys educating patients of all ages about women's health issues and believes that an ounce of prevention is truly worth a pound of cure.
Mayra J. Thompson, M.D.
Dr. Mayra J. Thompson is an associate professor in the division of gynecology at UT Southwestern. She received her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Illinois Research Hospital.
Dr. Thompson is board certified and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as well as a member of the Association of Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeons, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, American Society for Reproductive Medicine and American Urogynecologic Society. She has also been certified by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry.
Dr. Thompson has lectured and proctored courses in the use of minimally invasive techniques at UT Southwestern and elsewhere. She not only teaches the residency staff, but enjoys assisting physicians in private practice who wish to learn and master these techniques.
Dr. Thompson is fluent in Spanish and has a special interest in communicating wellness and preventative care in the Hispanic community. She has hosted multiple radio educational shows for the Latin American community not only in Dallas but in the Southwest. Among others, the most known are “A Su Salud” and “La Buena Vida.” For her efforts she was awarded the Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the “Si Se Puede” award from the Mexican American Professional Women’s Association of Dallas.
Ellen Wilson, M.D.
Dr. Ellen Wilson is an associate professor at UT Southwestern. She is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist who earned her medical degree in 1984 at Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology in 1989 at George Washington University Hospital and fellowship training in 1991 at UT Southwestern.
Additionally, Dr. Wilson completed a year-long fellowship in advanced laparoscopy in 1992 through the Society of Reproductive Surgeons at Woman's Hospital in Houston. She then entered private practice in North Dallas for eight years prior to returning as a faculty member to UT Southwestern in 2001.
Dr. Wilson speaks both English and French. Her primary interests include polycystic ovarian syndrome, infertility, menopause hormonal management and pediatric/adolescent gynecology with a focus on anatomic abnormalities.
Comprehensive Obstetrics and Gynecology
Our comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology physicians are committed to providing quality health care for women through all stages of life. In addition to obstetrics, they are experienced gynecologists who specialize in women’s health care.
Tam Truong, M.D.
Dr. Tam Truong is an associate professor and chief of the comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology program at UT Southwestern. He is also medical director of the program's university practice.
Dr. Truong is originally from Vietnam and has resided in the Dallas area since 1975. He earned his medical degree from the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed his residency at Methodist Medical Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
Dr. Truong has brought an infectious energy to the group's practice since joining UT Southwestern in 1991. As the father of five, he knows that each pregnancy - like each child - is different. He is committed to promoting good health, longevity and well being for each of his patients.

Frances Rosenbaum, M.D.
After completing residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at UT Southwestern and Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Dr. Frances Rosenbaum joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as an assistant professor in 2008.
She received her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin and was awarded a medical degree in 2004 by The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas.
Dr. Rosenbaum is fluent in English and Spanish. Like the other specialists in comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology, she believes in establishing long-term relationships with her patients and provides obstetrical, gynecological, and well-woman care to women of all ages. Her primary interests are in treating adolescents and young adults and prenatal care.
Dr. Rosenbaum is co-author of a chapter in The Parkland Trauma Handbook, “Trauma in the Pregnant Patient”.

At the Multi-Speciality Clinic, Dr. H. David Cook is committed to helping women achieve a quality life. he provides women of all ages with comprehensive gynecological care and access to a network of specialists at UT Southwestern.
H. David Cook, M.D.
After practicing in Dallas for 25 years, Dr. H. David Cook joined UT Southwestern’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as an associate professor in the summer of 2004. A Texas native, he received his bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and was awarded his medical degree by UT Southwestern Medical School in 1974. Following a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at UT Southwestern University Hospital, Dr. Cook joined a group private practice there.
Dr. Cook is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is past president of the Southwestern Gynecologic Assembly and a member of the Dallas County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, and Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as well as the South Central Obstetrical and Gynecological Society.
Dr. Cook’s practice focuses on providing preventative health care to women of all ages. He, along with his nurses and office staff, are committed to providing the type of sincere, personal care that they would expect for their own families.
