Urogynecology is the subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology that treats women with pelvic floor disorders such as urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, voiding dysfunction, fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, constipation, pelvic pain, urinary tract infections, interstitial cystitis and sexual dysfunction. UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Disorders Program offers the full scope of diagnostic techniques and treatment options in order to provide the most comprehensive, state-of-the-art care for women with pelvic floor disorders.

Full-time clinical faculty from one of the largest divisions of urogynecology in the country are joined by a team of nurse practitioners, physical therapists, and nurses. Together they deliver state-of-the-art pelvic floor services.

Surgical approaches to urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and fecal incontinence include all current and state-of-the-art techniques such as:

  • Vaginal repair
  • Abdominal repair
  • Laparoscopic repair
  • Collagen injections and
  • Interstim.

Our team is committed to treating each patient as an individual. We make every effort to design a treatment plan uniquely suited for the individual patient.

Patients with urinary incontinence or sexual dysfunction can also be treated by our urology service. Patients with kidney stones can also be treated by our kidney or urology services.
