 Core Facilities

The Antibody Core Facility uses the mouse ascites production method for monoclonal antibodies in accordance with Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) policy.

Each monoclonal antibody cell line can be injected into retired breeder BALB/c mice (2) to make ascites fluid

Fee: $100

Each monoclonal antibody cell line can also be injected into SCID mice (2) to make ascites fluid.

Fee $200

How to Proceed:

  1. Fill out the order form, which may be downloaded as an Adobe PDF file here. The order form must be accompanied by an IDR, together with the required reagents (see below), to Dr. Wayne Lai (K3.118 or Y4.312D or FAX 214-648-2951).

  2. The Core will notify you when/if we have mice available for injection.  If the core is maintaining the hybridoma cell line, no further reagents are required.

  3. If you are maintaining the hybridoma cell line, you must be able to provide 10 million live cells to the Core on the day of injection.  The cells should be washed twice with PBS, then brought to a concentration of 5 million cells/ml, in 2 ml total volume (for 2 mice).
