Neurobehavior and Dementia Fellowship Description(PDF format)
Neurobehavior and Dementia Fellowship Application(PDF Format)

This one-year fellowship is designed for neurologists to develop clinical and research skills in neurodegenerative diseases and neurobehavioral syndromes.  Faculty interests include Alzheimer's disease, Mild Cognitive Impairment, Frontotemporal dementias, Lewy body disease, and Parkinsonian-plus syndromes, such as Progressive Supranuclear palsy, as well as aphasias and apraxias.  The fellowship is closely linked to the accredited Geriatric Psychiatry and Geriatric Medicine Fellowships, allowing for interaction with psychiatry and medicine trainees with similar interests and training with certified Geriatric Psychiatrists and Geriatricians.

Clinical and research experience includes clinical research projects at the UT Southwestern Alzheimer's Disease Center.  The clinical research aims of the center include identification of biochemical markers for Alzheimer's disease and related disorders.  Other clinics attended include the UT Southwestern Memory Clinic.  Didactics includes weekly seminars in geriatric psychiatry, Alzheimer's disease, Neurology Grand Rounds, Clinical Neuroscience Seminars and Psychiatry Grand Rounds, in addition to directed readings.  Fellows have close mentoring and are encouraged to develop their own research projects, present at scientific meetings, and develop scientific paper and grant writing skills.
