Research Programs and Mentors

Within and outside of the ID division, ID fellows will be exposed to a breath and depth of basic and clinical research programs paralleled by few other academic institutions.

Fellows are encouraged to identify a research interest as early as possible and the Program Director is available to help them contact the faculty member most suitable to serve as a mentor for their identified area of research interest.  The fellow's research focus can be clinical, translation, basic science or epidemiological.  As mentioned above, the research mentor may or may not be a member of the division.

Funding

Fellows' research activities will usually be supported by their mentors' grants. They are also encouraged to apply for intra- or extramural support with the help of the mentor.
