Unwanted hair is a common problem that plagues both men and women. Laser treatments can significantly reduce such a problem and improvement can be seen after even one treatment. However, hairs cycle through growth phases at different times, so a series of about four treatments is necessary for optimal effect. Treating in a series at six week intervals helps ensure that all hairs in a given area are treated with the laser in their growth phase.

Laser hair removal is also helpful in the treatment of pseudofolliculitis barbae (PFB). This condition is characterized by red bumps that come up around hair follicles. These bumps are often made worse by shaving. Laser treatments often produce dramatic improvements in this condition.

In general, darker, coarse hair responds better to treatment than white, fine hair. The treatment is mildly uncomfortable, and topical numbing cream may be used before the treatment starts. Temporary redness and slight swelling may be seen after the procedure. With the most advanced lasers available, our office is able to treat patients of all skin types for hair removal.

We use the Sciton Laser for Hair Reduction Treatments.  If you would like to find out more information about the Sciton Laser please click on the blue highlighted area, then click on Applications.
