Microdermabrasion involves the use of fine, abrasive particles that gently remove the outer dead layer of skin cells. The procedure improves the overall texture of the skin and also improves penetration of topical creams and medications. In addition, microdermabrasion is helpful in the treatment of blackheads, particularly on the nose. There is minimal discomfort during this procedure, and patients can return to their normal activities immediately after treatment. Your face may be slightly red after the treatment.

This treatment is optimally effective if performed in a series of five treatments about two to four weeks apart.
