About Facial Skin Rejuvenation

The purpose of facial rejuvenation is to create a more youthful appearance by removing the presence of certain signs of aging. These include:

  • Brown spots or "liver spots"
  • Fine lines and furrows
  • Dilated blood vessels
  • Uneven skin pigment
  • Uneven skin texture

Much progress has been made in skin rejuvenation. Less invasive procedures are now available that require less recovery time in many cases. A combination of procedures may be performed to obtain optimal results. Rejuvenation procedures available at the clinic include:

  • Laser resurfacing and Chemical peels
  • Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments
  • Botulinum toxin (Botox®) injections
  • Tissue fillers such as collagen or Restylane®
  • Microdermabrasion
  • Obagi Skin Care Products

Specific treatment or treatments must be tailored to each person's skin type, degree of aging, and goals. These will be discussed during the consultation visit.

Recovery Time: Many of the procedures listed above require no recovery time. These include botulinum toxin injections, injection of tissue fillers, microdermabrasion, and certain laser or pulsed light treatments. Some of the more invasive procedures may require recovery time of three to ten days.

Number of Treatments Needed: Many of the less invasive treatments produce optimal effects when performed in a series ranging from two to five treatments. Other procedures such as botulinum toxin injection or fillers usually last for three to  12 months, depending upon the substance used. To maintain the effect, repeat treatments are necessary.
