The September meeting and Open House was attended by nearly 30 students. We had Mr. Rahm Heymann, Clinical Assessment & Patient Simulation Specialist present a lecture on the difference between traditional and simulation teaching. Then he took the students to the simulation room where they got to do CPR on a high fidelity human patient simulation mannequin. They role played and saved the mannequin's life by doing CPR and by using a heart difibrillator. The second half was a presentation by Jason Woo, a second year UTSW medical student. He talked about what it takes to get into medical school and a day in the life of a medical student.
