Dr. Skip Garner, Professor of the Eugene Mcdermott Center For Human Growth and Development, talked to the Explorers Post on September 24th. His lab develops applied computational biology focused to address topics in research such as cancer and heart disease. The lab’s goal is to impact medicine through the use of advanced technologies, such as eTBlast. eTBlast uses full text similarity searches instead of keyword searches. It can help scientists find references, collaborators, competitors, as well as identifying plagiarism.
