For our first official meeting, the students briefly heard about different career opportunities within a basic science lab (Psychiatry) and then went on to do hands-on activities exploring the brain.
They rotated between 5 different stations in the room where they dissected mouse brains, mounted mouse brain sections, counted newly born cells in the brain, saw slices from human brain tissue, as well as saw some fMRI data. Each station was developed from the actual experiments used by Dr. Lagace in her research projects.
A special Thanks to the Program Presenters & Consultants.
