This practical course is intended to teach the basic principles of designing and presenting an outstanding research protocol. Course objectives are :
- Translate a research question into a hypothesis.
- Identify and describe hypothesis-appropriate study subjects and study measurements.
- Select specific study design appropriate to research and resources available.
- Synthesize elements into a study plan.
- Develop a statistical section and analytical plan.
Prerequisites: DCS 5301: Clinical Research Design & Analysis is helpful, but not required
Credit: 1 hour
Grading Criteria: Pass/Fail; students will turn in Research Rationale assignments and will make presentation of research protocol developed in class.
