Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center in cooperation with the Department of Clinical Sciences at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas have excellent employment opportunities for one or more self-motivated individuals with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a biostatistician.

Required qualifications:

  • MS degree in biostatistics or related discipline, or MPH with a concentration on biostatistics
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in biomedical or health care environment
  • Effective working knowledge of SAS and Microsoft Office (particularly, Access and Excel)
  • Ability to restructure and create SAS data sets using SAS DATA statements; to perform general linear model analysis and basic sample size calculations
  • Ability to effectively convey interpretations of analysis results (oral and written)

Desirable qualifications:

  • Familiarity with S-plus
  • Experience with some of the following SAS procedures: MIXED, GENMOD, NLMIXED, LIFETEST, LIFEREG, PHREG
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Experience with microarray analysis
