The Department of Clinical Sciences at UT Southwestern Medical Center, is seeking applications for participation in the Clinical Research Scholars program. The goal of the program is to support the development of the careers of individuals who are dedicated to a long-term career in clinical investigation, and aspire to develop into future leaders in clinical research. Sponsored, in part, by the National Institutes of Health (NCRR KL2 grant mechanism), this multidisciplinary program supports the clinical research training and career development of persons in relevant disciplines and professions (including but not limited to internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetric/gynecology, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, statistics, epidemiology and the behavioral sciences psychology, and engineering) and their various specialties and sub-specialties.
Individuals selected as Clinical Research Scholars will enter an intensive, individualized, comprehensive educational, training, and career development program beginning in July and lasting a minimum of 3 years, which will prepare them fully for a career as an independent clinical investigator. Participants who successfully complete the program and meet program milestones will earn a Masters of Science in Clinical Sciences with Distinction degree through the Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
Interested individuals may submit applications following the announcement and call for applications issued by the Department of Clinical Sciences each Fall. All applications will be reviewed and selected applicants will be interviewed. The Department anticipates announcing candidates who have been selected for participation by March of each year.
