GENERAL INFORMATION
The RNA oligonucleotide synthesis core with support from Center for Biomedical Inventions and Simmons Cancer Center has been established to provide affordable RNAi reagents for laboratories at Southwestern. The core is operated by Susan Jensen and Steve Liu. Standard and modified oligos will be synthesized using phosphoramidite chemistry on our two ABI 394 and Beckmann Oligo 1000 instruments.
SCALE
Currently, we offer 40, 200, and 1000nmole synthesis scale, as well as regular oxidized and modified sulfurized Oligos.
TURNAROUND
We hope to keep turnaround times to a minimum. RNA oligos will be synthesized on a first come first served basis. Our current maximum output for standard RNA is 16 oligo per day, and 4 oligo for modified RNA. The turn around time for standard RNA is 3-5 days business days and 5-7 days with extra 2’OH silyl removal and desalting. The turnaround time for modified (sulfurized) oligos is 1-2 weeks.
Note: 2'OH silyl must be removed before usage.

*SWITCHING FEE
For sulfurized oligos, there is a $25 charge every time you switch from regular oxidizing bond to sulfurizing bond and vice versa. Please see details in the sulfurize oligo instruction page.
QUALITY CONTROL
Only estimated yield will be given to the end-user. It is recommended that end-user should verify the estimated yield using standard OD technique.
