Is your appearance a health issue? Sometimes it can be. Things you do to make yourself look better can affect your health, and there are healthy habits that may also help you look better. This week on "Healthwatch," we'll talk about your appearance and your health.
Even though winter is on its way out, dry winter skin may still be an issue. Dermatologists at UT Southwestern Medical Center offer some tips for keeping your skin moist and supple. First, take shorter showers or baths with water that's warm rather than hot. Pat dry after your bath, leaving some moisture on your skin, and then put on moisturizer. In cold weather, you'll need thick, creamy moisturizer.
A humidifier can restore moisture to indoor air, which will help keep your skin from drying out.
