Travel awards for 2007

The following are the winners of the WISMAC (Women in Science and Medicine Advisory Committee) award ($500).

  • Anna-Marie Fairhurst
    PI - Edward Wakeland
    Dept. - Immunology
    She will attend the FASEB summer research conference in autoimmunity at Saxtons River in Vermont from July 14th-19th.
    Title of her abstract - "The role of IFN in congenic and subcongenic models of lupus".
  • Brenda Timmons
    PI - Mala Mahendroo
    Dept. - Obstetrics and Gynecology
    She will attend the Society of the Study of Reproduction meeting in San Antonio from July 21 - 25th
    Title of her abstract - " Defining the timing of migration and activation of inflammatory cells in relation to other events during cervical remodeling"
  • Premlata Kumar
    PI - Carole R. Mendelson
    Dept. - Biochemistry and Obstetrics and Gynecology
    She will attend the Endocrine Society's meeting in Toronto, Canada from June 2nd-4th
    Title of her talk is "Estrogen receptor-alpha and estrogen-related receptor gamma mediate autostimulatory effects on Aromatase (AYP19) gene expression in human placenta".

 

The following are the winners of the Postdoctoral Association travel awards ($ 500)

 

  • Shunzi Li
    PI: Kathlynn C Brown
    Division of Translational Research, Dept: Internal Medicine.
    She will attend the 20th American Peptide Society Symposium
    Title of her presentation is "Facile synthesis of multimeric peptides and their applications in developing cell-specific delivery systems".
  • Shipra Vaishnava
    PI: Lora Hooper
    Dept: Immunology.
    She will attend the 13th International Congress of Mucosal Immunology
    Title of her talk " Distinct innate immune detection mechanism dictate paneth cell antimicrobial responses to intestinal bacteria"
