 Welcome to the Prevention Toolbox

This Prevention Toolbox is dedicated to provide informational resources to Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), program directors, managers, supervisors, and "frontline" personnel who are involved in preventing the spread of HIV and sexually transmitted diseases.  This site is geared towards those person whose work include outreach, education, prevention counseling and testing, or oversee any of the aforementioned types of programs.

The information found in the Evidence Based Fact Sheets on this website is designed for use in HIV/AIDS prevention with persons at risk for acquiring or transmitting HIV. This information is meant to be used as a resource for HIV prevention providers which include, but are not limited to health departments, community-based organizations or community planning groups. This information is to be used for the expressed purposes as outlined and should only be used by trained HIV prevention personnel and or trainers of HIV prevention material. Please be advised that these materials are not meant for use by the general public. For the most part, these interventions focus on high risk adults except where otherwise noted. Although some of the material presented on this website refers to programs that may be implemented with adolescents this website does not contain intervention materials themselves. Please be advised that evidenced based intervention materials should be used in its entirety as outlined in the implementation guide and no part of the intervention package should be used in isolation of said materials. For example, videos should be used as instructed in the intervention implementation guide and should not be shown in isolation. The information contained on this website has been designed to help facilitate behavior change among persons who are great risk for acquiring or transmitting HIV.
