Fact Sheets of Effective HIV Prevention Interventions
The Fact Sheets contained in these pdf documents are summaries of evidence-based interventions (EBI) proven to reduce risk behaviors associated with the acquisition or transmission of HIV/AIDS or other Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD). All of the information presented here meet the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) criteria of effectiveness. The interventions listed have been shown to work effectively with a variety of populations and have been delivered in either individual, group, or community-level settings. The Fact Sheets were created to assist Health Departments and Prevention Providers in the selection of appropriate interventions for their target population(s). Click on an intervention to find a brief description of the intervention, the intervention setting, characteristics of those who participated in the original intervention, influencing factors being addressed by the intervention and whether or not a training and/or curriculum is available.
