Coronary CTA can detect traces of calcification in the coronary arteries, which can indicate early heart disease. Measurement of the calcium is then compared to a database of patients within the same demographic group to determine risk. With early detection of heart disease, the patient can work with a physician to take aggressive action to prevent ever becoming symptomatic.
