Dr. Rueyling Lin, assistant professor of molecular biology, has been awarded a five-year, $720,000 Research Scholar Grant from the American Cancer Society. The grant will support her investigation of the intersection of two signaling pathways that are important in the regulation of how cells differentiate into specific types of tissues.

In her studies of animal development, Dr. Lin uses the nematode C. elegans as a model system and combines genetic, molecular biological and cell biological approaches, as well as advanced imaging technology.
