Application Information for Continuing Education


To apply to the program for online blood bank technology courses for continuing education credit, please follow these steps in the order in which they appear. (It may be helpful to print this page.)


1. Apply for admission to the program using the Blood Bank Technology Program - Continuing Education Application.  Please submit your application before the deadline. This application process is required prior to taking the first course in the program.  Complete the application online, then print and send the application and required documents to the address on the application form.

Required Documents:

Continuing Education Application 
Three letters of Recommendation  in sealed, signed envelope
Official Transcripts in sealed envelops
Foreign Transcript Evaluation (foreign applicants)
TOEFL Score (foreign applicants)

Note:  Persons applying for academic credit must use The UT Southwestern online application

2. Once you have been admitted to the program, you may want to apply for a loan for your tuition.  For students enrolled for academic credit, government loans may be available through The UT Soutwestern Financial Aid Office.  Please apply as soon as possible. It can take up to six weeks to approve and process your loan and receive your check.

3. Some employers also provide tuition reimbursement.  It is your responsibility to determine the criteria required by your employer for reimbursement.

Tuition for Continuing Education Students

The cost for the courses for the 2-year continuing education program is $555 per course. Additionally, students should expect to spend approximately $1000 on required textbooks over the 2-year period.  Tuition for each course in which you are enrolled for the semester is due in full by the registration payment deadline.  There is a $25 charge for late payment.
