The Mary Nell and Ralph Rogers Magnetic Resonance Center is equipped with three Philips magnets: The Philips Gyroscan Intera, the Philips Gyroscan NT and the Philips 3T Achieva.
These are state of the art High field Tesla magnets that are designed and are able to accommodate all types of scans, from simple fractures to the most complex cardiac studies. The magnets are equipped with a full array of new RF coils to cover the widest range of clinical applications. The newest Gyroscan Intera also incorporates Synergy platform and coils in combination with the revolutionary SENSE method to shorten the length of the scan and dramatically improve the quality of the image, allowing doctors a better view of the most minute details. In addition to being the fastest and one of the strongest magnets on the market today, the Gyroscan NT and Intera also have a long reputation of being the most patient-friendly MR systems available. Flared open on both sides, with a tube length of only 4 feet, the Philips magnets can accommodate up to 500 pounds. They also come with some additional features such as a camera, a microphone and a CD player for the convenience of the patients. (Yes, requests are taken, and you can bring your own CD’s)
