Upcoming Events Sponsored by Women in Science and Medicine Advisory Committee (WISMAC) at UT Southwestern
November 17, 2009 Could your work environment benefit from stronger teamwork and cooperation? Learn how to identify the work styles of individuals and use this knowledge to create an effective team by attending WISMAC’s career development workshop entitled, "Leadership Training: Recognizing and Motivating Different Work Styles." In this workshop you will learn how to use the DISC assessment method, a non-judgmental tool for classifying different characteristics of behavior. Knowledge of these basic behavior styles is often used to increase group cooperativity, understanding, and productivity.
To participate in this event please preregister by emailing LaShawnda.Thomas@UTSouthwestern.edu. You will be sent instructions and a link to complete an online DISC assessment. The DISC assessment must be completed by November 12, 2009. Results of your online assessment will be explained and made available to you at the workshop on November 17th.
This workshop is offered to all faculty, postdoctoral scholars and students (male & female) who complete the assessment. It will be held at 4:00-5:30 PM in the AW Harris Faculty-Alumni Center. Please come early (3:30 PM) and/or stay late (6:00 PM) to network. [updated 11/17/2009]
