Immunohistochemistry

Description
Immunohistochemical staining of paraffin sections of fixed tissue. Stained sections and appropriate positive and negative control slides are returned to the submitting pathologist. UT Southwestern faculty pathologists are available to offer full consultation on submitted cases if you request it. Performed
Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Turnaround Time
Blocks received by 2:30 p.m. are generally stained the morning of the next working day and sent out that day. Stained slides can be sent back by courier or Federal Express for an additional charge.
Specimen Requirements
Paraffin blocks of fixed and processed tissue are preferred over unstained slides. PLEASE INDICATE SOURCE OF TISSUE AND TYPE OF FIXATIVE USED. A completed Reference Laboratory Request Form, and an Immunohistochemistry Antibody Selection Form must be submitted with the specimen. The specimen may be transported to the laboratory by courier, US mail, Federal Express, or other appropriate means.
