The Division of Pediatric Pathology is staffed by board-certified pediatric pathologists, clinical pathologists and PhD laboratory scientists, all specializing in pediatric disorders.  Members of the Division are available for consultation and slide review of cases that involve diseases of the fetus, infant and child, including evaluation of lesions of the placenta. Discussion of the case with one of the pediatric pathologists prior to submission of a specimen is recommended. The staff is available to perform fetal and neonatal autopsies, if the deceased patient is transported to Children’s Medical Center and complete medical records are available for review prior to beginning the procedure.
