The Diagnostic Electron Microscopy Center performs diagnostic ultrastructural analysis on a variety of specimens for diagnosis. University faculty members from the Divisions of Surgical Pathology, Neuropathology and Pediatric Pathology staff the facility offering areas of expertise in renal disease, neoplasia, pathology of the nervous system and pediatric developmental and metabolic disorders. Specimens may be submitted for complete ultrastructural analysis including a faculty pathologist's interpretive report or submitted for processing and scanning only with representative high-quality prints of the specimen's ultrastructure returned to the referring pathologist for interpretation.
