Fees for Service

The UTSW TTC will rederive lines of mice that have been housed in conventional colonies on the UTSW campus, become contaminated while housed in SPF colonies, or have been acquired from conventional colonies at other institutions.

Rederivation                                  $500/line

Guarantee Policy

In exchange for the fees charged for services, the Center warrants that it will generate two to three litters/line rederived.

Investigator Requirements

  1. The Investigator contacts the Center [x56287] to schedule the rederivation and discuss specific details about the strain to be rederived.

  2. The Investigator submits the Rederivation Request Form for services.

  3. The Investigator will transfer to the TTC,  2 to 4 proven stud males between 6 to 14 weeks of age.  Males will be euthanized following the rederivation unless a request is made to return the animals to the Investigator’s colony.

  4. The TTC staff will perform the hormonal priming of WT females purchased by the TTC, will set up timed-matings and will isolate oviducts for egg harvests.

  5. Investigator submits  Animal Reassignment Form for female recipients to be transferred and housed in ARC quarantine.
