Should you need a battery jump or have locked your keys inside your vehicle, the police department will provide assistance. Communications personnel will need your name, vehicle description, vehicle license plate number, and location. A liability release form is required to be completed before the officer can provide assistance. This form is available from the responding officer.

Officers are not permitted to unlock vehicles with power door locking devices.

Wreckers Parked on Campus

If you make arrangements with a wrecker company to have your personal vehicle towed, please contact the University Police at extension 214-648-8311 and advise the department that you have made arrangements for a personal tow. Please provide the following information:

  • Your Name, Extension, Office Location.
  • Wrecker name and estimated time of arrival.
  • Vehicle information and location.

Important: Vehicles will not be towed from campus unless the owner has authorized the tow or the wrecker driver has a court order authorizing repossession. Wrecker drivers will be contacted and questioned by University Police if seen on campus.
