R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense)

The University Police Department started offering a women's self-defense program called "R.A.D." in 2002. R.A.D. is a practical course designed to teach the average woman how to reduce risk by:

  • Recognizing and avoiding dangerous situations
  • Becoming more assertive and forcefully saying "No" when appropriate
  • Learning and practicing basic, easy-to-use physical self-defense techniques

R.A.D. Course Dates:

The next course is scheduled for the following dates, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm each evening: 11-3-09 (Tuesday), 11-5-09 (Thursday), 11-10-09 (Tuesday), and 11-12-09 (Thursday).

Each course consists of four three-hour sessions. Specific class locations and scheduling may vary. Please e-mail Keif.Dahlman@UTSouthwestern.edu for more information, or to enroll for the course.
