Hereditary Spherocytosis is one of the most common types of familial anemia.  It has been our impression that there is very little information about this relatively common disorder available on the internet for patients and their families other than excerpts from books or other literature directed primarily at specialists.  Therefore, the pediatric hematologists (children’s blood specialists) at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and Children's Medical Center Dallas have developed this website aimed at providing education about HS directed to patients, their families, and primary care physicians.  We hope that you will find it useful and give us your feedback!
