Application Procedure

Radiology Applications

Radiology applications should be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Your application should be submitted through the Dean's office at your medical school or through ECFMG if you are an international medical graduate. It is strongly recommended that you complete your application by November 15 for training to begin the following July. In addition to the application form, our requirements include a brief personal statement, curriculum vitae, medical school transcript, dean's letter, and three letters of recommendation from physicians who have knowledge of your clinical experience. All positions begin on July 1, and interviews are conducted each year from November through January. The Resident Selection Committee evaluates applications upon completion, and approximately 100 applicants are invited to interview. The department will acknowledge every completed application.

Residency Interviews

Residency interviews are conducted in the department on weekdays and include 30-minute interviews with three or four faculty members, a tour of the department, and lunch with residents currently in the program. All positions are filled through the match unless special circumstances apply. Our NRMP program code for positions to commence the following July is no. 2835420C0. The program code for those matching for an internship first is no.2835420A0.

International Medical Graduates

International medical graduates should be aware that UT Southwestern sponsors only J1 visas for physicians in training. H1b visas are not sponsored, nor can they be transferred from another institution. There is no minimum USMLE score.
