One of the most common nonsurgical conditions seen by pediatric urologists is voiding dysfunction in otherwise healthy children. Our center has a longstanding interest in this problem, dating to Dr. Terry Allen's observations on what became known as the Hinman-Allen Syndrome. Currently, we are prospectively studying the relationship of constipation to functional bladder disorders, and are developing a questionnaire to facilitate diagnosis of various subtypes of voiding dysfunction.
