Neonatal Intensive Care and High-Risk Care

The Division provides comprehensive intensive care for seriously ill neonates in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units at Parkland Memorial Hospital and Children’s Medical Center.  The Parkland NICU has up to 100 beds including three levels of acuity.   A developmentally friendly area was added during 2001 for the special care of neonates requiring long-term care (a gift of the Crystal Charities Ball).

Children’s Medical Center NICU is a 16 bed temporary unit which provides intensive care to patients referred from other hospitals and NICUs.  A new critical care tower is under construction, which will include 36 intensive care beds and state of the art technology, that will also provide family centered care.
