The Division of Pediatric Nephrology provides outpatient and inpatient consultation for Children's Medial Center  Dallas.   A pediatric nephrologist is always available to evaluate and treat patients with renal abnormalities.   The clinical expertise of the nephrology faculty encompasses all aspects of renal disease and fluid and electrolyte abnormalities.

The Division of Pediatric Nephrology provides renal replacement therapy in patients from birth through adolescence.   A hemodialysis unit and a training program for home peritoneal dialysis (CAPD/CCPD) are staffed by nephrology nurses.   Currently there are over 60 children and adolescents on dialysis.  Two other nurses work full-time to coordinate transplant planning and follow-up activities.  Our division has its own social worker, dietitian and child life specialist.  A total of ~12 renal transplants in children are performed each year making it one of the largest pediatric centers for the treatment of end-stage renal disease in children in the United States.

Physicians or patients can call 214-456-7000 and ask for the nephrologist on-call.
