The Referral and Evaluation of Abused Children (REACH) clinic at Children's Medical Center of Dallas is staffed by fellowship trained faculty in child abuse and Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. Emergency Referral Center (ERC) and inpatient consultation are available. The clinic is a resource for education and research. Medical students are given a basic overview of issues in child abuse and neglect, and the physician role in recognition and intervention including reporting laws and working with community agencies. The emphasis on teaching residents is to be able to recognize children at risk and to make the appropriate referrals. Research interest includes occult liver damage in children presenting with bruises.  Click here for more information about the Children's Medical Center of Dallas Child Abuse Clinic.

For additional information, please call (214) 456-6134.

Special information: If the case has not been referred to Child Welfare prior to the child being seen and abuse or neglect is determined, the case will be referred to Child Welfare by the Child Abuse Division.  There is no charge to the family for evaluation or necessary tests.
