Patients are admitted to one of the intensive care units (ICU's) at Children's Medical Center of Dallas.  Depending on their diagnoses, critically ill children will be assigned to the general medical-surgical PICU, the cardiovascular ICU, the trauma-neurologic injury ICU, or the Level II PICU, and 1 of 4 medical teams assumes primary responsibility for their care.  In 2004, 2,645 patients were admitted to the different PICU's; one of the highest admission rates in the United States.  Patients receive state-of-the-art care.  Click here for further information about the resources and patient care activities.
