The Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine plays an important role in the education of pediatric, emergency medicine, and anesthesia residents from UTSW.

We provide didactic education and hands on experience for the required critical care rotations for the residents from each of the aforementioned departments in the form of month long rotations through our general medical/surgical ICU.   To enhance this educational experience, our faculty and fellows provide formal didactic teaching on pertinent critical care topics to the pediatric residents during their noon conference lecture series each year.

In addition, the Division provides elective rotations in our general medical/surgical, trauma/neurosurgical, and cardiac intensive care units for 2nd and 3rd year residents wishing to gain more experience in these areas.
