Fellowship Requirements

 

1.  Clinical coverage in ED: 1000-0200.  Wednesday shifts are single fellow coverage from 14:00-24:00 due to PEM Fellowship Conference Day.

 

2.  Active participant in the evaluation and management of all critically ill and injured patients

          A.  CPR

          B.  Trauma

          C.  Biotel

 

3.  Supervise/educate residents in the evaluation, management, and disposition of patients including:

          A.  Procedures

          B.  Abuse evaluations

          C.  Trauma

          D.  Orthopedics

          E.  Common medical conditions

 

4.  Participate actively in appropriate electives and outside rotations

 

5.  Maintain the ethics and moral code as determined by UTSW and CMC

 

6.  Directly evaluate and manage patient care as directed by attending physicians and dictated by patient volume

 

7.  Work in conjunction with the PEM attending and in some instances as the 2nd attending

 

8.  Concentrate education experience to achieve expertise in the practice of pediatric emergency medicine

 

9.  Attendance at all Fellow’s Conferences (each Wednesday 0900-1200) – except when in PICU
