Dr. Scott Grundy, director of the Center for Human Nutrition, has been named chairman of the Department of Clinical Nutrition in UTHSCD's School of Allied Health Sciences. His appointment means the beginning of a new partnership between the CHN and the department.

Dr. William Gonyea, dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences, says that Grundy and the CHN will provide top-notch leadership and research laboratories to attract students and faculty interested in nutrition research. On the other hand, the School of Allied Health Sciences will provide Grundy with an administrative facility through which faculty appointments in nutrition can be made.

Grundy agrees that the partnership will benefit both parties. "This change will promote the goals of the nutrition center. As we recruit new faculty for the department, they will do their research in the center."
