OUR NEW OFFICERS for The Friends of the Center for Human Nutrition have been appointed, Dr. Scott Grundy, director of the Center for Human Nutrition, announced at the annual spring meeting.

Mr. C. Thomas May, Jr. has been named chairman of The Friends of the Center for Human Nutrition. Mr. May, founder of May Financial Corporation, also serves on the board at Zale Lipshy University Hospital.
A collector of American art, Mr. May is on the acquisitions committee of the Dallas Museum of Art. He also serves on the fundraising committee at Texas A&M Galleries of Art and is a member of the MSC Forsyth Center Galleries at Texas A&M University Memorial Student Center.
Mr. May and his wife, Eleanor, have four children.

Outgoing chairman Mr. Charles Best, who served The Friends for the past 11 years, said, "I have really enjoyed working with Dr. Scott Grundy. I believe the Center is fortunate to have him as its director. He has made invaluable contributions to the nutrition field. "It is very gratifying to the members of The Friends to see young fellows from the Center become key leaders in nutritional research." Dr. Grundy said Mr. Best has provided superb leadership for more than a decade as chairman of The Friends of the Center for Human Nutrition.

"Chuck Best served as chairman of the Friends for over a decade.His inspired leadership kept the Friends as a vital organization that is devoted to the Center for Human Nutrition and UT Southwestern," Dr. Grundy said. "He has been a wonderful friend and advisor to me personally as well."

Other new officers include Ms. Pamela Harris Dealey and Joseph B. and Ann Lynch. Ms. Dealey has been named president of the Friends of the Center for Human Nutrition. A marathon runner who also worked 10 years as a personal trainer, Ms. Dealey is a graduate of The Hockaday School and Southern Methodist University. Ms. Dealey is a member of the Crystal Charity Ball and the Hockaday Alumnae Association. Ms. Dealey also serves on the Foundation Board of the Callier Center for Communication Disorders. She has four children and is awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild.

Mr. and Mrs. Lynch have been named chairs of the Junior Group of The Friends of the Center for Human Nutrition. Mr. and Mrs. Lynch are both Dallas natives and graduated from the University of Mississippi. Mr. Lynch serves on several committees in Dallas and he owns Reach Our Home Care in Dallas. They have three children.
