Physician-to-Physician Referrals
UT Southwestern Medical Center’s referral network allows primary care physicians and their patients to access our specialists to diagnose and treat patients currently located throughout the nation. We offer consultation with our physicians representing every area of medical specialization.
Responding quickly to the needs of referring physicians and their patients is a top priority at UT Southwestern. Scheduling of appointments and consultations is carried out promptly and patient transfers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Physicians may use our online Physician Referral Form or may call 214-645-5455 or toll-free at 866-645-5455. UT Southwestern medical staff will assist with the secure and timely transfer of medical records and test results to our offices and will provide quality care for patients in a manner consistent with the physician’s practice.
Referring physicians may use our Find a Physician tool to locate UT Southwestern’s specialists. We offer brief biographical information for our doctors as well as their clinical and research areas of interest and contact information.
UT Southwestern’s program makes patient referral arrangements, including transfer coordination, and offers compassionate patient care in our inpatient and outpatient facilities. We also assure that primary care physicians have direct contact with their hospitalized patients, and our staff takes every care to coordinate treatments with referring physicians.
