Your Visit or Stay
UT Southwestern Medical Center has flexible visiting hours to accommodate the needs of our hospital patients and their guests.
Visiting hours are open, but patients should receive plenty of rest so their bodies may heal. Friends and family members may stay overnight in the patient rooms (with the exception of ICU). At University Hospital - Zale Lipshy, the bench “window seat” may accommodate one person. At University Hospital - St. Paul, cots are available. Bed linens may also be requested.
It is recommended that children under the age of 11 not visit either hospital facility. If children must visit, they should be supervised closely at all times. No children under the age of 12 are allowed in the ICU waiting rooms.
Waiting Areas
There are specially designated lounge areas for visitors on each patient floor and on the main floor in the lobby. Specific waiting areas have been designated for families of patients in the Intensive Care and Day Surgery units. Please abide by policies posted in waiting areas.
