UT Southwestern Medical Center physicians take complex medical information about pediatric surgery and describe it to patients in easy-to-understand terms. In addition, we also offer parents access to educational materials that will help them to learn more about pediatric surgery and why their children are candidates for the treatment prescribed.
Patient education can make a significant difference in how patients and their families approach pediatric surgery. In addition to access to UT Southwestern’s health-care professionals, family members may consult other educational materials to better understand what to expect before, during and after treatment.
