UT Southwestern Medical Center physicians take complex medical information about pediatric rehabilitation and describe it to patients and their parents in easy-to-understand terms. In addition, we also offer patients access to educational materials that will help them to learn more about rehabilitation and why they are candidates for the treatment prescribed.
Patient education can make a significant difference in how parents approach rehabilitation for a child’s illness. In addition to access to UT Southwestern’s health-care professionals, patients may consult other educational materials to better understand what to expect before, during and after rehabilitation, and also to explore any possible follow-up treatments that might be needed.
