UT Southwestern Medical Center cancer rehabilitation specialists provide the comprehensive therapies needed to help manage and overcome the symptoms caused by cancer as well as continue the recovery process initiated by cancer treatments, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, hormone therapy and immunotherapy.
Cancer specialists provide specialized care needed to address patients’ specific situations — with effective pain management techniques, personalized physical, occupational and therapy programs, nutritional advice, patient education and family counseling.
Our physicians and therapists will become active partners with patients to help them regain a sense of well-being and improve their outlook on the future. Patients who have been a part of UT Southwestern’s cancer rehabilitation program have realized extraordinary results in their rehabilitation.
UT Southwestern is dedicated to helping cancer survivors surmount the physical and psychological issues that often accompany cancer, its treatment and the rehabilitation process. Our specialists will actively work with patients and their families to provide the treatments, skills and motivation needed to achieve a successful outcome for cancer rehabilitation.
Our therapists also provide the valuable rehabilitation therapies needed to assist elderly or disabled patients increase their independence and ability to perform the activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, preparing meals, shopping for groceries or personal items and performing light housework.
